StarCraft: Tactical Miniatures Game — the Terran expansions, explained

StarCraft: Tactical Miniatures Game — the Terran expansions, explained

It's a wargame, not a card game

Worth saying plainly since it sits next to our TCGs in the same catalogue: StarCraft: Tactical Miniatures Game is a tabletop miniatures wargame, not a trading card game. There are no boosters, no randomised packs, no card rarity — you buy a specific unit or faction expansion and you know exactly what's inside before you open it. We stock it sealed for the same reason we stock everything else sealed: an opened miniatures box that's been assembled, painted, or had pieces sold off individually isn't the product the manufacturer shipped.

Blizzard, Archon Studio, and where this comes from

StarCraft itself is Blizzard Entertainment's 1998 real-time strategy game, one of the most influential titles the genre has produced and, in South Korea especially, a foundational esport in its own right. Archon Studio — a tabletop miniatures manufacturer founded in 2014 — announced an official partnership with Blizzard on 26 March 2025 to bring the StarCraft universe to tabletop gaming, starting with this miniatures game in 2026 and expanding into board games in 2027.

How a game round actually works

Each round splits into three phases — Movement, Assault (ranged combat) and Close Combat — with players alternating activation one unit at a time rather than moving whole armies in one block. A Fog of War system keeps some forces off the table as hidden reserves, a Supply mechanic stops a player from simply being wiped off the board, and a Surge Die mechanic is built into combat resolution to keep fights from being fully deterministic. It's a tighter, more tactical structure than a lot of mass-battle miniatures games, closer in spirit to the small-unit skirmishes that made the original RTS distinctive.

The Terran line

Our Terran stock covers the faction's core roles: Marine and Medic for core infantry and battlefield healing, Marauder for heavy support, and Goliath for mech-class combat walkers. Each is sold as its own sealed expansion box — buy the roles you need to round out a Terran force, or start with infantry and build outward.

Buying it from Spaceship TCG

We carry the Terran expansion line sealed, sourced from authorised distribution and checked on intake before listing — sprues, miniatures and rules intact, exactly as Archon Studio packed them.
