Riftbound: Origins booster box — Riot Games' League of Legends TCG launch set

Riftbound: Origins booster box — the launch set for League of Legends TCG

What Riftbound is

Riftbound is Riot Games' first physical trading card game, built on the League of Legends universe. Development began in 2023 under game director Dave Guskin, previously director on Riot's digital card game Legends of Runeterra, with UVS Games announced in February 2025 as the publishing and distribution partner for English-speaking markets. The game launched in Chinese on 1 August 2025 and in English on 31 October 2025 — a genuinely new release in a category most players associate with decades-old franchises. Riftbound is built to support both traditional one-on-one play and multiplayer formats like 2v2 and free-for-all, which is a deliberate design choice reflecting League of Legends' own multiplayer roots rather than a straight port of a digital card game's rules onto cardboard.

Origins: the launch set

Origins is Riftbound's first set, over 300 cards deep, built around champions familiar to any League of Legends player — Viktor, Jinx and Lee Sin among them. As a first set from a brand-new publisher entering physical TCGs, its release was staged rather than global on day one: China first, then North America, EMEA, LATAM and Oceania in English from October 2025, with further regional rollouts including APAC continuing into 2026. That staged rollout is also why allocation on Origins has been tighter and less predictable than an established line like Magic or Pokémon — distributors are still calibrating print runs against real demand for a set with no sales history to plan against.

Why that makes provenance matter more, not less

A new TCG with sudden demand and constrained early allocation is exactly the environment where resealed or misrepresented product shows up first — before a market has had time to learn what to check for. That risk doesn't apply evenly across TCGs; it is highest right where Origins currently sits.

Buying Origins from Spaceship TCG

We carry Riftbound: Origins as booster box (24 packs) and single pack, matched against the distributor invoice, sealed and photographed on intake. If you're picking up League of Legends TCG at launch, sealed and verified from an authorised distributor is the only way we think it's worth buying into a brand-new game.
